OfSTED Inspection
WE ARE A GOOD SCHOOL
Evidence gathered during this ungraded (section 8) inspection suggests that the school’s work may have improved significantly across all areas since the previous inspection. The school’s next inspection will be a graded inspection.
We are delighted to attach a copy of our latest report following our visit by OfSTED in February 2024.
Our Ofsted inspection was an ungraded inspection of a Good school. This means that there were 3 possible outcomes. Firstly, that the school maintains the grading of good, secondly there may be concerns about the grading leading to a reinspection or finally that the school is performing at an outstanding level. We are delighted to share that the inspector was of the belief that our school has improved significantly from the previous inspection and could be graded outstanding at the next inspection!
We are delighted to share the fantastic outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on the 4th and 5th of February 2025. The inspection report has highlighted numerous strengths of our school, and we are incredibly proud of the recognition received.
Key Highlights from the Ofsted Report:
“Pupils at this school thrive.” The school has high aspirations for all pupils to do their very best. Staff understand what pupils need to succeed, both academically and pastorally.
“Staff create a climate for learning that enables all pupils to feel safe and take risks.” One pupil, who shares the views of many, explained, “Teachers get our activities just right. We get to think hard, but not too hard.”
“Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of all pupils, and activities stimulate pupils’ curiosity. As a result, pupils achieve exceptionally well.”
We are particularly proud of the recognition that our school's curriculum is highly ambitious and well-structured. Lessons are designed to ensure pupils build their knowledge effectively, and the teaching methods help pupils to practice their learning before working independently. Curriculum development has been supported by working closely with LAAT and the wide variety of CPD on offer.
“The school’s values of ‘Respect, Achieve, Enjoy, and Believe’ are demonstrated in all aspects of school life.” Pupils have positive relationships with each other and the staff. Pupils have very strong attitudes to learning and their behaviour is impeccable.
“The school offers an extensive range of opportunities to develop pupils’ talents and interests. Participation in events and experiences within the local community and across the LAAT enables pupils to consider their own aspirations.”
“Pupils enjoy their opportunities to become leaders, and they take these responsibilities seriously.” The school council enjoys working on projects such as promoting ‘acts of kindness’ to complete the silver Blue Peter badge.
The report also highlights our commitment to reading across the school, with an extensive reading spine that supports the wider curriculum and enhances pupils' opportunities to learn about a range of cultures. The phonics programme is taught systematically, and pupils learn to read quickly with the help of highly knowledgeable staff.
Our commitment to supporting pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) has been acknowledged as exemplary. The school uses a forensic approach to identify SEND quickly and plan appropriate adaptations to the curriculum, ensuring that pupils with SEND achieve very well.
The early years provision at our school has also been praised for providing an exceptional start to school life. Children, including those in the nursery, learn effectively from high-quality activities that develop their curiosity and deepen their thinking.
Lastly, the report commends our personal development programme for preparing pupils very well for life in modern Britain. Pupils understand a range of ways to keep themselves safe, both physically and mentally, and have an extensive understanding of a range of faiths and cultures. They learn to challenge stereotypes and treat each other with respect, demonstrating the fundamental British values across the school.
Leaders at all levels have a clear vision and are tenacious in their drive for continuous improvement. Effective actions strengthen the school's provision, ensuring that all pupils receive an exceptional school experience. Our close partnerships with LAAT and the active engagement of governors and trustees further enhance our school's success.
We are grateful for the overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents about the impact of the school on their children. We remain committed to providing the best possible education for our pupils and to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and enriching environment for all.
We are delighted with this outcome, and this is down to the hard work and commitment of the staff team, governors and wider trust.
